The officers felt that whereas the Federal Suffrage Bill was essential as an opening wedge, yet it was solely subsidiary to the main purpose, the whole enfranchisement of all ladies of the nation. Although the effort value considerable cash, time and labor, yet the committee felt that it was effectively price doing as a technique of awakening interest in and advancing the cause of woman's suffrage. Mrs. Anson Wells and Mrs. Henry P. Blair with different mates of the trigger contributed generously to the expense of the enterprise.
